We had a great time. The guides in both Thailand and Laos were terrific and patient. The biking was, as described, challenging, but the wonderful food and local beer eased our tired muscles. Thanks for making this a trip of a lifetime.

This was the only thing we had planned and pre booked in advance of our trip to Laos so our expectations were high, and we were not disappointed. We did a private tour with our own guide and support vehicle (when it was possible). The trip included cycling, mostly on dirt roads, trekking and some kayaking on the last day. Our guide Chansi was amazing, he looked after us really well, he was very knowledgable, and nothing was a bother. We travelled through some picturesque countryside, stayed with some great locals in the villages, were fed well, and had some interesting (basic) accommodation. It was nice to be disconnected from the modern world for a few days and get to experience a non tourist side of Laos. We would highly recommend this or another tour with Tiger Trails. We plan to come back and do another tour one day, hopefully with Chansi as our guide again.

We were a group of 10 avid cyclists (MTB / Gravel) for whom Tiger Trails customised a varied point to point itinerary over 6 days early Oct north of Luang Prabang. Very good value. Advance organisation and communication was excellent. The team from Tiger Trails (drivers / riders) were exceptional people who, under some trying circumstances brought about by weather damaged routes, made a plan for every hurdle. Nothing was too much for them. Joyous, happy, ever smiling people and so willing to share their insights of their beautiful country. On the organisational part, nothing was a big issue, including last minute ticket bookings, hotel changes, and bike transfers. We'd definitely ask them to be of service again. Note: we seemed to be their first real group of riders as opposed to tourists using bicycles. Thus mechanic services are not offered and guides well prepared for 'touring' but possibly not as well equipped (kit / bikes) for hard riding. Despite this, the guys were amazing. Thank you to all at Tiger Trails

DO NOT BOOK WITH TIGER TRAILS. We had a 30 km excursion booked with them to a remote village that we had really been looking forward to. On booking and confirmation of what we needed they never mentioned that it was “burning season”. The air quality index was over 400 and at the time was globally rated as the second worst air quality index in the world. We reached out to them the day before via email and WhatsAp for a contingency plan for our health and safety (I have asthma and being far from health care in very poor air quality is incredibly unsafe. In reaching out we even provided proof of the air quality index rating and the World Health Organization’s recommendation to avoid outdoor air exposure and any and all outdoor exercise for all health groups (not just sensitive groups). We received no response. We reached out to them again several times the morning of our trek inquiring again and eventually cancelling. Only to hear back from them 30 minutes after our trek was supposed to begin asking where we were. They finally responded to our original email 3 days later where they stated a refund was not possible as “the weather is not that bad” and they still felt- despite scientific evidence and World Health Organization guidance- that it was still safe to do the trek. For context we cancelled other tours in Luang Prabang for the exact same reason and even re-booked our flight to leave Laos due to the air quality and received full refunds from ethical Laos businesses that value their customers health and safety. Considering this trek definitely traverses land where mines are still actively present; after this experience I wonder how safe and careful they would have been with other practices that the trek involves. Avoid this company if you value your safety.
