Overall 5 stars. A wonderful trip. We were almost tired of eating and drinking good wine.
Trip Highlights - Hotel Intercontinental in Lyon. Very nice accomodations and great breakfast buffet. Good location. Glad that we were all able to be at the same hotel.
Winery Highlights: Cave de Tain, Chateau de la Gardine and Cave de Coyeux (wonderful views).
Best Meal: Maison Chenet - Entre Vigne et Garrique
Best Tour - Pont du Gard
Chateau De Massillan - beautiful hotel. Good food. We did not experience the air conditioning issue. Our disappointment was that we expected to be in Avignon. This location was not set up for "free time". We would rather have been in Avignon with the ability to explore the town.
It seemed the tour may have had a few people too many. Not sure if this was the reason for the large bus which wasn't always able to navigate the small roads and entryways.
Least enjoyed experience. Lunch at Chez Chabert. After the breakfast buffet at the Hotel Intercontinental there was just too much food. The restaurant was also very hot and humid. Very tight seating. Many of us commented on the potential fire hazard - too many people to be able to get out. Possible reason for the large crowd is that it was French Mothers day.
This was a great trip. There were a great deal of wineries and restaurants. My only recommendation would be not to schedule lunch and dinner on the same day because of the slow dinner mode. It ends up being 6 hours of dining. It would also be nice to browse a city for shopping built into the tour midweek.

Thank you so much Janet for your review! I do agree with you about the meals and also more free time for shopping and will factor this into future trips. Glad you and Chris had a great time. Really enjoyed getting to know you both.
