Amy Walker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Walker Wellness Retreats, which she launched in 2016 to combine her passions for travel, mental wellness, and creating transformative experiences. With a deep commitment to helping others, Amy leads 6–10 international retreats annually, offering all-inclusive experiences that foster connection, self-discovery, and personal growth. She loves showing people the world and creating meaningful, unforgettable travel experiences.


When she’s not guiding retreats, Amy works as an online mental health therapist, specializing in helping individuals and couples overcome barriers, improve communication, and build fulfilling relationships. Her approach integrates evidence-based techniques with compassionate, solution-focused support.


An avid traveler, Amy has visited over 80 countries and counting, with a personal goal to reach 100 countries and all seven continents. General Tips for Greece

  • Currency: Greece uses the Euro (€). It’s wise to carry some cash for small purchases, tips, and local markets, but credit cards are widely accepted.
     

  • Language: Greek is the official language, but English is commonly spoken in tourist areas, restaurants, and shops. Learning a few basic Greek phrases can enhance your experience.
     

  • Climate: Greece experiences a Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters. Lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal, especially for summer travel. A hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are must-haves for daytime outings.
     

  • Electrical Outlets: Greece uses type C and F plugs, with a standard voltage of 230V. Bringing a universal adapter is recommended if your devices have different plugs.

TRAVEL TIPS FOR SEPTEMBER IN GREECE

  • Expect daytime highs in the upper 70s to 90s°F (25–35°C); evenings are cooler by the coast.

  • Some beaches are rocky—consider water shoes.  

  • Bring a scarf or wrap for religious sites.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

Payment Policy


All Walker Wellness Retreats require a 25% non-refundable deposit of the total retreat price to secure your booking. Should you need to cancel your trip, your deposit will not be refunded regardless of the reason for cancellation.


For U.S. destinations, the next 25% is due 60 days before the trip, and the final remaining balance is due 30 days before departure.


For International Destinations, the next 25% is due 120 days before the trip, and the final remaining balance is due 90 days before departure.


Trips can be paid in full at any time. If booking after the final payment deadline, trip payment in full is due at time of booking.


Invoices NOT paid in full within 7 days of the above-mentioned deadlines are subject to trip cancellation. No refunds will be issued for trips canceled due to lack of payment.

Cancellation Policy


BEFORE the final payment deadline: If you cancel your reservation before the final payment deadline, any additional payments made beyond the non-refundable 25% deposit will be refunded. However, the 25% deposit remains non-refundable. 


AFTER the final payment deadline: If you cancel your reservation after the final payment deadline, all payments made (including the deposit and any additional amounts) are non-refundable due to financial commitments with our retreat venues, guides, and service providers. 


In the unlikely event that Walker Wellness Retreats cancels a retreat, you will be given a 100% full refund

Upon landing at Athens International Airport (ATH), you’ll be greeted warmly. After collecting your luggage, look for the WALKER WELLNESS RETREATS sign—your journey begins here. A private transfer will take you smoothly to your hotel.

Your retreat officially kicks off this evening with a welcome dinner and orientation. If you arrive earlier, feel free to explore Athens at your own pace. Just a 10-minute taxi ride from the hotel, the historic Plaka district awaits, with its charming cobblestone streets, quaint boutiques, and lively cafes. Enjoy a glass of ouzo with traditional mezedes while soaking in views of the iconic Acropolis—an unforgettable introduction to Greece.

6:30 PM – Gather in the hotel lobby for a meet-and-greet, then walk as a group to the restaurant.

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and enjoy your morning at your own pace. This morning is the perfect time to wander Athens’ vibrant neighborhoods, relax at a café, or soak in the city’s energetic atmosphere.

12:00 PM – Join the group for lunch at a local restaurant, or feel free to enjoy a meal on your own.

2:00 PM – Depart for a private guided walking tour of Athens with Olive Sea Travel. The tour begins at the legendary Acropolis Hill, home to the Parthenon, Erechtheion, and other iconic monuments. Following our time at the Acropolis, we’ll visit the Acropolis Museum and its fascinating exhibitions. From there, our journey continues through Andrianou Street in the Plaka district, with stops at the Roman Agora, Monastiraki Square, and the surrounding lively streets rich with culture and charm.

7:00 PM – Group dinner at Mystilli, a charming restaurant in the heart of Plaka.

After dinner, enjoy free time to explore the area further or take a scheduled taxi back to the hotel.

8:00 AM – Depart the hotel for the port and board the Worldchampion Jet ferry to Mykonos. Enjoy the scenic 2-hour, 50-minute cruise to this cosmopolitan island, celebrated for its idyllic beaches, vibrant nightlife, and iconic Cycladic architecture. Upon arrival, settle into your surroundings and take in the postcard-perfect views of whitewashed buildings and narrow alleys in Mykonos Town.

1:00 PM – Relish a delightful lunch at the hotel as you prepare for an immersive afternoon experience.

3:30 PM – Meet at the hotel reception for a transfer to Mykonian Spiti for an authentic Greek cooking class. This is a shared group experience.

Immerse yourself in Mykonian culture through its rich culinary traditions. At Mykonian Spiti, you’ll be welcomed with traditional loukoumi and Teta’s homemade liqueur. Begin with a tour of the vegetable garden to learn about the seasonal produce that shapes the island’s cuisine.

Savor local specialties, including rusk with kopanisti cheese, olives, louza (smoked pork), and handcrafted wine, before starting your hands-on cooking lesson. Guided by Teta, you’ll prepare classic Greek dishes, such as spinach pie, stuffed tomatoes and peppers, and tzatziki.

After the lesson, enjoy a feast featuring the dishes you’ve prepared, complemented by a seasonal salad, orzo with beef, feta, kopanisti, a handmade dessert, and unlimited drinks, including raki and handcrafted wines.

2:00 PM – Meet at the hotel for an afternoon excursion to Mykonos Town, known as Chora by the locals. This traditional Cycladic village is nestled around a picturesque bay, offering a glimpse into the island’s rich culture and architectural beauty.

As you explore Mykonos Town, admire the whitewashed cubic houses with brightly painted wooden doors, windows, and balconies, and stroll the labyrinthine streets once designed to confuse pirates, now a delight for explorers.

Visit charming churches and chapels, including Panagia Paraportiani, a listed national cultural monument and stunning example of Cycladic architecture. Discover the historic Venetian castle ruins on the hill of Kastro, where history and beauty converge, and snap photos of the iconic windmills overlooking the town and Little Venice.

Wander through Little Venice, perched on a small peninsula, where two-story Venetian houses adorned with colorful wooden porches and balconies appear to float on the sea—a perfect spot for unforgettable photos and soaking in the magical atmosphere. Keep an eye out for Petros the Pelican, the friendly island mascot near the old port, and consider visiting the Archaeological Museum, Nautical Museum, and Folklore Museum to dive deeper into local history and culture. Today is yours to explore Mykonos however you wish—whether lounging by the hotel’s luxurious pool or venturing out to discover hidden gems. If you plan to join any tours or excursions, be sure to book in advance.

For inspiration, consider visiting some of the island’s stunning Beaches:

  • Paradise Beach offers a lively atmosphere, perfect for relaxing on the sand or joining a beach party.

  • Ornos Beach is ideal for families or those seeking calm waters and nearby cafés.

  • For a quieter escape, Agios Sostis Beach features untouched beauty and crystal-clear waters.

Stroll through the narrow streets of Mykonos Town (Chora), lined with whitewashed houses and boutique shops. Explore Little Venice, a stunning waterfront area perfect for sunset views, and don’t miss the iconic Windmills of Kato Mili for postcard-worthy photos.

Delve into the island’s culture by visiting the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos or the Aegean Maritime Museum to learn about the island’s rich seafaring history. Admire the unique architecture of Panagia Paraportiani Church, one of Greece’s most photographed landmarks.

Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel, then prepare to check out of your room.

9:00 AM – Meet at the hotel reception for our ferry transfer to Santorini. The ferry departs at 9:50 AM, offering stunning views of the Aegean Sea as you journey to this iconic island. Upon arrival, we’ll transfer to our hotel, where the charm of Santorini awaits.

Take in the island’s striking beauty—whitewashed houses clinging to dramatic cliffs, winding cobblestone streets, and sweeping views of the volcanic Caldera.

1:00 PM – Enjoy lunch at the hotel.

After lunch, enjoy free time to explore Santorini’s enchanting village of Fira, the vibrant capital ideal for wandering through quaint shops and cafés. While studying, be sure to sample local delicacies, including Santorini’s rich and flavorful cheeses, as well as unique island specialties such as tomato paste and fava, made from locally grown produce.

7:30 PM – Gather for a magical sunset dinner at a local restaurant, savoring delicious Greek cuisine while marveling at the vibrant hues of the setting sun over the Caldera—an unforgettable experience.

Start your day with breakfast at your convenience, followed by free time to explore Santorini at your own pace.

Whether you’re soaking in the charming streets of Fira or discovering hidden gems, this morning is yours to enjoy before we regroup for lunch.

1:00 PM – Lunch will be served at the hotel for those who wish to join, or you can explore the local dining scene on your own. With a free morning, the choice is yours.

2:30 PM – Meet in front of the hotel for a memorable sunset hike from Fira to Oia, an iconic Santorini experience offering breathtaking views along the caldera’s edge. The path passes through the towns of Oia, Imerovigli, Firostefani, and Fira, providing panoramic vistas of the islands.

The hike covers over 10 km (6 miles) and takes approximately 4 hours, traversing a combination of paved streets and dirt trails. It is moderately difficult and hilly, with limited shade—be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. For the adventurous, a detour to Skaros Rock adds 45 to 60 minutes and offers rewarding views, as well as a sense of solitude.

If you prefer not to hike, a taxi can be arranged through the hotel to meet the group at the restaurant, with the cost covered.

7:00 PM – Dinner at Karma Restaurant, followed by private transportation back to the hotel.

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, enjoying the morning at your own pace. Spend your free time exploring the island or relaxing in the comfort of your accommodation.

12:00 PM – Join us for lunch at a nearby restaurant if you’d like, or feel free to venture out on your own if you’re already exploring the island.

2:00 PM – Meet your driver at the main road in front of Sklavenitis Super Market, Fira Town, for an unforgettable sunset catamaran cruise. Set sail on this 6-hour tour to discover Santorini’s hidden treasures from the water with Santorini Day Tour.

During the cruise, you’ll visit: Vlychada Port (departure point), Red Beach (stunning coastal views), Mesa Pigadia Beach (nestled next to White Beach), Warm Springs (soak in therapeutic waters), and the Santorini Volcano, where lunch or dinner will be served onboard. The cruise returns to Vlychada Port, followed by a transfer back to your hotel.

Onboard, enjoy a delicious menu featuring Greek Salad (Vegetarian), Chicken BBQ Souvlaki, Seafood or Shrimp Pasta, Spreads and Dips (Vegetarian), accompanied by wine, beer, sodas, and mineral water.

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we will take a short morning flight from Santorini to Athens.

8:30 AM – Depart Santorini Airport (JTR)

9:15 AM – Arrive Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" (ATH)"

Please choose an international departure flight from Athens that departs after 12:00 PM to allow ample time for baggage collection and check-in for your onward journey.

Your retreat officially concludes after breakfast today, providing you with a final opportunity to reflect on your time in the beautiful Greek Islands.
