The Philadelphia Flyers are kicking off the season with a roadtrip to Western Canada (and Seattle) and, if you'd like to go with them, you're in the right place!
This trip includes games in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Seattle and as an added bonus it features two days in Banff! Enjoy all flights between cities (round trip to Philadelphia), all ground transportation, EIGHT nights at four star downtown hotels, and lower bowl tickets to all four games.
There's also the opportunity to make it an official Julie Approved experience by adding the all-inclusive option where I have carefully curated your daily itinerary to highlight all the best things to see, do and eat in each city. All you have to do is show up and have a great time because I've been there and done that and know how to maximize your time and your money!
For an idea of what that might entail, be sure to check out the itinerary below or download the brochure.
If you've been to these cities before and would rather sleep in, explore at your own pace and just go to the games, do NOT add on the all inclusive option. We don't rush through anything, but we will have a full schedule with breakfast at 8am every day and there is very little down time to venture out on your own.
In case you were wondering, over 90% of guests opt into the all inclusive portion of the trip.
And, YES!, the price for the all inclusive add on is in fact ALL inclusive - every meal, every snack, every sweet treat, every beverage (even the adult variety), every activity, every everything (except souvenirs and anything you might want to purchase at the games and the airport) IS included. It's designed to be a completely wallet free experience for you.
A payment plan is available and a $1000 deposit per person secures YOUR spot today!
We start this trip with a mid-afternoon cross continent flight. Upon arrival in the evening, we'll head straight to our centrally located four star hotel for a good nights rest before we jump right in with a full day of activities tomorrow.
We'll start the day with Breakfast at one of my favorite spots to fuel up for a walking tour of the city to learn more about its history. Next, we'll head to Granville Market for a tour that will live up all your foodie expectations. That market is small, but packs a flavorful punch and is outrageously charming with beautiful views on the water.
In the afternoon, we'll head to Stanley Park and a spin around the aquarium. It's one of the best in the world and features seals, sea lions, a shark tank with sea turtles and sting rays, and an abundance of jellyfish.
Before we head to Rogers Arena we'll go to my favorite taco spot. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Everything is fresh, made to order, and has gourmet flair. You're gonna love it!
Finally, we'll head to the arena to enjoy our lower bowl seats to watch the Canucks host the Flyers and then it's back to our four-star hotel for the rest of the night because we've got a long day ahead of us tomorrow!
Have I mentioned that Vancouver is one of the best foodie cities in the NHL? Have I also mentioned that it's one of my favorite breakfast cities in the NHL? Because it is and it is! That's why we're hitting up another of my favorite breakfast spots before heading to the airport for our early afternoon flight to Calgary.
Upon arrival, we'll head downtown, have lunch and check out the view from Calgary Tower before heading to the Saddledome as the Flames host the Flyers in their first back-to-back games of the season to put Tortarella's training camp conditioning to the test!
After the game, we'll drive to Banff and check into our four-star main street hotel and get ready for a full day of activities in the Canadian Rockies tomorrow!
We'll start the day with a great breakfast because - if you haven't noticed - we love food as much as we love hockey! 😜
Then we're out for the day to explore the national park and surrounding areas like Lake Louise and - if the weather cooperates, Moraine Lake and Takkakaw Falls - and the Canmore caves. After a day filled with adventuring and all the stunning views the Canadian Rockies have to offer, we'll head back to Banff for a fabulous dinner before calling it a night.
Today, we'll get an early breakfast and head out to Bow River for a spin on the kayaks to enjoy the mountain scenery from the water. We'll get those legs moving again with a hike to the top of Tunnel Mountain, which ironically has no tunnels. The hike requires physical effort, but it's relatively easy with a gradual incline and beautiful views of downtown Banff at the top.
Now that we've worked up an appetite, we'll take the gondola to the top of Sulpher Mountain for lunch with a stunning view! Afterward, we'll attempt to relax our muscles in the hot springs before heading to dinner and enjoying a relaxing evening downtown.
As always, we'll start the day with breakfast and enjoy our last few hours of the incredible mountain views before we check out the plains of Alberta on our way to Edmonton. Along our journey, we'll stop for lunch, a sweet treat and a historical tour of the Reynolds Museum.
Once we arrive in Edmonton, we'll check into our four-star downtown hotel, get dinner and head to Rogers Place to see the Oilers host the Flyers for the third game of this roadtrip.
We'll start the day with some of the best donuts your tastebuds have ever experienced and follow it up with a little local history lesson and explaination on how Canadian government differs from the US with a tour of the Alberta Legislature.
Then it's off to the airport for our mid afternoon flight to Seattle.
Once we land in the Emerald City, we'll check into our downtown centrally located hotel before exploring the history of Seattle's underground. If these walls could talk, the stories they would tell!! Fortunately, someone else already did all the research, wrote a book about it and now offers these tours to enlighten and entertain us!
Afterward, we 'll go to the BEST restaurant in the city for dinner and finish the night with an epic view of the city.
We'll start off with a delicious breakfast, but don't drink too much coffee because our next stop is a tasting at the Starbucks Roastary followed by a food tour of Pike Place Market. After we are properly caffeinated and well fed, we'll take the monorail to the arena district with stops at the Museum of Pop Culture to learn all about Seattle's influence on music, Chihuly Garden and Glass to see some beautiful artwork, the Space Needle for a history lesson and beautiful views of the city, and we'll cap it off with a street food culinary experience with a Seattle classic before we go to Climate Pledge Arena to enjoy the last game of this road trip as the Kraken host the Flyers.
We complete the trip with a direct flight back home to Philadelphia with an early evening arrival.
