About your trip

Join us for a Meditation Retreat in the Redwood forest that is remarkable and transformational, located at Land of Medicine Buddha, a working Buddhist Monastery.   


This retreat focuses on Mindfulness and the joy of the redwood forest.   Though we will be learning advanced Yoga techniques and philosophy, often not seen in studios, no matter your experience level, all are welcome here.  We will offer peaceful comfort and ease to all, even if you have never meditated or tried yoga before. All planned activities are up to your discretion.   


This retreat is approved by both IAYT and Yoga Alliance for 30 Continuing Education (APD/CE) credits. Offered as an add on option at check out for Certified Yoga Therapists and/or Teachers. This will include additional training and possible opportunities to guest teach. 


Each Day Includes The Following Optional Activities: 

  • 3x Yoga classes (all levels)
  • 3x warm vegetarian meals
  • Dharma Talks, led by resident Venerables
  • Silence from sunrise to after lunch
  • Breathing lessons
  • Meditations
  • Sound baths
  • Hikes in the sacred Redwood Forest 
  • Sauna and pool access
  • Optional studies and teaching opportunities for Yoga Professionals earning 30 CE Credits

You will receive a take-home manual to enhance your yoga experience. This guide will make use of the Patanjali Yoga Sutra: 8 Limbs of Yoga, as well as the 4-Fold Process as inspired by the Mahayana Tradition, and the 4 R’s from the Gitananda Tradition, which will be discussed throughout the retreat.

Travel Information:

Nearest airport: San Jose Airport (SJC). 

We offer an optional shuttle service to and from the airport to Land of Medicine Buddha (LMB), with an added estimated charge of $33/person.

- Pick up from SJC is at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3rd. 

- Pick up from LMB is at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 7th.


Extra Fees: 

If you choose to use the shuttle service, it is at cost, directed by the shuttle service itself (estimated is $33.00 per guest).

Gratuity to the guest speakers, faculty, and kitchen will be collected as a group.

Yoga

Daily 3 full Yoga classes offered with postures, breathwork and meditation for positive health.

Daily Dharma Talks

Guest teachers and Venerables teaching life lessons., including meditation techniques, philosophy, Buddha stories, and more.

Morning Pranyama

Optional 30 min breathwork practice before the morning Yoga Asana.

Transportation

All transportation, to and from Land of Medicine Buddha, is not included in your payment. Though we do arrange for no-host group transportation services to/from SJC (San Jose Airport).

Megan, M.A., C-IAYT, IYA is an expert in teaching wholesome lifestyles to reduce stress and increase mindfulness. In addition to her M. F. C. studies, she has over 1208 hours of formal yoga and meditation training. Megan also is a Co-Director, a faculty member, Practicum Supervisor at AlcheMe Yoga Therapy School in Irvine, CA, and has an online Mentor Program with Tess O'Hern called YES!, Yoga Expansion Series.
