About this trip

Sedona is a special place where the earth seems especially alive with energy.  It is known as a Global Metaphysical Epicenter.  According to truthseekers, it is one of the world's greatest hotspots for psychic energy: whirling and vibrating, creating the pull of portals that enhance consciousness.  Our group will spend 5 days amidst this magnificent area, absorbing these special energies, conducive to healing and self-exploration as we tune into our Vortex and set our intentions for the New Year.  After our initial meet and greet, we will spend the afternoon on a mild hike and take in the beautiful surroundings.  We will incorporate daily intentional experiences to release the old and make room for the new.  During the days to come, we will experience a tasteful tour at Sedona Valley Winery and ride on the Canyon Railroad, where we will enjoy a personalized charcuterie board and champagne toast, while viewing our trails.  On New Years Day, a Vortex Jeep Tour will introduce us into the coming year.  The Chapel of the Holy Cross Vortex in Sedona, Arizona is a unique experience as many say this vortex is, in fact, the “strongest” vortex of them all!!! Sedona is a city that exhibits its natural beauty, scenic vistas, pristine environment and cultural heritage.  A magical way to start 2023.....Namaste

Itinerary

The Spirit of Sedona
The Spirit of Sedona

Thursday, December 29th; Fly into Sedona and get settled in to one of our sought out hotels.  That day will commence with a meet and greet around 4 pm, with introducing and sharing a little about ourselves.  Exchanging of intentions for the coming days are more than welcome at our Opening Circle.  Afterwards, we will take a walk/easy hike, to capture the mountainous views and end the evening with a lovely dinner.

Friday, December 30th;  Each day this weekend, prior to breakfast, you may join Maria for a morning stretch.  Afterwards, if you wish, you may enjoy a little down time or join us for a morning walk.  At breakfast we will advise you of the time to meet in the lobby for our excursion to one of Sedona's famous Wine Tours, where you will taste the flavors of the area and enjoy your own personal charcuterie board lunch.

Saturday, December 31st, New Years Eve Day;  Enjoy our morning breakfast gathering.  Later in the day, we will enjoy a 4-hour sightseeing journey by train aboard the Verde Canyon Railroad, which glides through the beautiful wilderness of the American Southwest near Sedona.  Nibble light refreshments while traveling on the Verde Canyon Railroad through Arizona’s desert.  Ride in a vintage train car to get a great perspective on the region’s natural and cultural treasures.  See ancient cliff dwellings built by the Native American Sinaguas and historic mining sites and more, as your train cruises along a route that follows the Verde River.  That evening we will enjoy dinner and Welcome in 2023 with some local festivities!!

Sunday, January 1st;  Rise and Shine to the New Year!!  Time to relax and take in the crisp mountain air.  Meet for breakfast at your leisure.  Later today, we will meet for our Sedona Vortex Journey, as we explore the magic and mysticism of natural vortexes.  Traveling the region by Jeep, we will visit several vortex sites around town and learn about their history, all with the help of an informative guide.  Whether you feel the energy on your skin or experience a feeling of enlightenment, find out for yourself the powers of a vortex.  Please note, this is predominantly a walking tour and you will be required to walk on uneven terrain at times.  Please wear sneakers or hiking boots for this day.

Monday, Jan 2nd;  Wake up refreshed and aligned.  Prior to departing, we will meet for our Closing Circle breakfast and share about all the wonders seen along the way, soul searched enlightenments or shifts you may have had.

So very grateful for all who have decided to take this journey into the New Year with us.  Wishing everyone a glorious year ahead, full of love and joy....Namaste

Thank you Maria and Brie. The day was wonderful. The venue great. Your teachings are so helpful to destress and detox especially during this amazing time.

This was a transformative experience with amazing people. The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. The food was delicious. Maria is an amazing host for the Myofascial courses and had great representatives for yoga instruction. I am definitely going to go to another trip.

This trip was excellent. Maria set the tone for a wonderful, open, warm group dynamic. The location was beautiful, food was excellent, but the community is what really made the trip. Thank you, Maria!

1. Why did you sign up for the retreat? I followed Nalie Agustin since Feb 2019 as needed to find “younger” people to connect with who are living with metastasised cancer. I saw her advertise it on Insta and the dates of the June one exactly coincided with my 12 day break from infusions and blood tests = it was meant to be! 2. How were you feeling before you arrived? Very tired! 14 hours plus 4.5 hours of flying straight after immuno infusion = I am mad. But only a fever/temperature and my twin girls being sick would’ve stopped me getting on those planes!! How do you feel now after the retreat? Really great, refreshed, energised from the yoga and fascia release Healing, a bit tired from all the travel, but really not too bad. 3. What tangible takeaways are you leaving the retreat with? To practice yoga more To meditate To believe one can heal To use Fascia Release massage healing techniques 4. What 3 parts of the retreat are most memorable for you? The second sharing circle where we all shared our innermost thoughts, baggage, mother stuff, issues, cancer stuff. The first yoga practice with Emily at 8am on the first morning with the beautiful views and sounds of the sea. Having Gael as my partner for Fascia Release Healing ... she is my British metastasised TNBC partner in crime and we really connected. 5. What is the single biggest impact that the retreat has had on you? To be kinder to oneself and others and ones body and make time for you 6. If you could have changed anything about the retreat, what would you have changed? Maybe have yoga a little bit later the first couple of mornings as the people coming from US, Canada and Australia were all pretty jet-lagged! As Andros and the villas we were staying in were soo beautiful ... No need I think to arrange a Mykonos trip but the group only came to that conclusion the day before! Vassos’ cooking was amazing!! But some salt and pepper on the dinner table would’ve been a good addition 7. How would you rate the retreat venue ( 1 being sucky, 10 being amazing)? 9 7b. Would you prefer the retreat venue to be a hotel or villa? Definitely the retreat venue 8. How would you rate the food at the retreat (1-10)? 8 9. Do you have any feedback about the co-teachers facilitation style on the retreat? Anything you particularly loved or didn't love about how we ran things? I actually really liked the differences chemistry between the 2 Greek Maria’s - chalk and cheese, but a lot of love there, very entertaining. I thought Emily was an amazing yoga teacher and cancer survivor inspiration! 10. Can we use some of your words for a testimonial for future retreats? Yes
