I met Alex Roldan on another Africa photography safari. I also made friends with another couple on this same trip. My new friends started talking with Alex about a trip to Zambia for Oct/Nov and invited my husband and me to join. Alex planned an individualized photography safari for us. Unfortunately, one of my friends became ill about 4 days into the trip and had to leave early. Alex did a fantastic job of handling the situation and getting our friends out of remote Zambia and back to Lusaka for medical attention. Fast forward to our second camp, my husband became ill and Alex again had to work on getting us out of an even more remote area. Fortunately, my husband started to feel better and we were able to stay. Alex was very attentive to his needs and made sure he stayed comfortable. In spite of the hiccups, we had a great time! It was awesome being in the true wild and mostly unspoiled remote areas of the world. Alex is a fantastic photography instructor and provided lots of individual attention especially with editing photos and learning more efficient Lightroom workflows! More importantly, Alex is an avid conservationist and is passionate about the animals and their habitat. It was so much fun watching him get so excited about spending hours and days with a large pack of endangered African wild dogs. Alex is not just a photography guide and travel coordinator, but a certified safari guide in South Africa. I consider Alex a friend for life and can’t wait to travel with him again!
