Galloway Cycling Holidays enabled a great biking experience in the south-west of Scotland, that's where Galloway is. Haven't known before, but will definitely remember! Esther and Warren, the heart and soul of this company, curated a wonderful selection of tours, covering a variety of characters, from misty highland-type forests and lochs, crossing fields of meadows with cows (including the characteristic ones with the white strip in the middle) and sheep down to the shore of the Irish sea. I did some self-guided tours in the second week on my own, and that made me understanding the value added they created, by selecting the routes, pointing out to sightseeing attractions, recommending peculiar dinner places and food options on the road (quite important too when biking a couple of hours...). They also could enrich our stay with their background knowledge, having both an inside and an outside view, as they traveled a lot themselves and as they are working for environmental projects too.
Everything was very well organized, they picked us up at the train station, so that we could avoid endless bus waiting hours, and provided bikes that perfectly covered our needs and wishes: an e-bike for my partner and a gravel bike for myself, both of very good, excellent quality! I'm still enthusiastic about the gravel bike and consider to buy one myself...
Organisation and communication was appropriate, smooth and seamless, just what you need when you are fully busy before vacation. Communication also worked in German which might be interesting if you are from a German speaking country, as this is Esther's first language.
I absolutely recommend both biking in Galloway (a secret gem!) and booking with Esther and Warren of Galloway Cycling Holidays! Go out there and get inspired!
