This was my second retreat with Kate. I’d traveled with a friend to my first one earlier this year. We didn’t really know what to expect, but we absolutely loved it.
When I saw the location for this retreat — a monastery in Tuscany — it looked so beautiful that I knew I had to go. I’d been in touch with Kate a few times, and she reassured me I’d be fine. I was a bit anxious since traveling solo was a big step for me, but having previously met Kate, Noona, and Isabelle, I felt like it would be staying with friends.
Kate set up a WhatsApp group so we could all connect and recognise each other at the airport. I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of the retreat, made some lovely friends and I actually learned a lot about myself — something I rarely have time to think about.
The monastery has been so sensitively restored. It felt perfect. The yoga and breath work sessions were calming and healing, held either in the chapel or out on the terrace. Delicious brunches, snacks, and dinners were prepared by our lovely private chef, Isabelle, in the big homely kitchen and served on the terraces.
We did a fabulous, guided hike into the mountains and a pottery class that was so much fun with new friends and an expert potter. There was also plenty of time to read, walk, and simply think.
A huge thank you to Kate for giving me the confidence to book, to travel alone, and for creating such fabulous retreats. I’m already looking forward to seeing what you have planned for next year — all being well, I hope to be there. xx
