This retreat was one of the most restorative vacations I've taken in a long time.
The venue was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly suited to a long weekend focused on reading, reflection, and conversation. The Cotswolds provided a stunning backdrop, with charming villages, wonderful bookshops, and scenery that felt straight out of a novel.
What made the experience truly special was the balance between community and solitude. I met an incredible group of fellow readers from a wide range of backgrounds and our conversations about books, life, and everything in between were thoughtful, engaging, and often inspiring.
The greatest gift of the retreat was time. In my everyday life, uninterrupted reading time is a luxury. During the retreat, I finished three books, and I carried that momentum forward by finishing two more during the remainder of my UK vacation. Having dedicated time and space to simply sit with a book, without feeling pulled in a dozen different directions, was a rare and wonderful experience.
I left with a longer TBR list, new friendships, and wonderful memories, and a deep appreciation for what can happen when you slow down long enough to fully immerse yourself in a good book. I would wholeheartedly recommend this retreat to anyone who loves reading and is looking for a meaningful way to step away from the demands of everyday life.
