Tuve la oportunidad de vivir una experiencia verdaderamente única en la Sierra Mixe, en Oaxaca, y sin duda fue algo que me marcó profundamente. Desde el primer momento, la comunidad mixe nos recibió con una calidez y generosidad que pocas veces se encuentra; nos abrieron las puertas de su vida cotidiana, compartiendo con orgullo sus tradiciones, su historia y sus raíces. Pudimos conocer de cerca sus artesanías, elaboradas con un cuidado y significado que reflejan siglos de herencia cultural, así como disfrutar de su gastronomía tradicional, llena de sabores auténticos que cuentan historias en cada platillo. Uno de los momentos más memorables fue la caminata por la sierra: un recorrido impresionante entre montañas cubiertas de una vegetación exuberante, donde el sonido del agua nos guiaba hasta hermosas cascadas escondidas. Es un entorno natural que te conecta profundamente con la tierra y te invita a desconectar del ritmo cotidiano. Además, la organización y la atención de Raíz Ayuuk fueron impecables. Queremos expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento por su excelente trabajo y por el compromiso que tienen con el apoyo y fortalecimiento de su comunidad. Más que un viaje, fue una experiencia de ecoturismo consciente, donde el respeto por la naturaleza y la cultura local es el centro de todo. Sin duda, un destino que recomiendo a quienes buscan algo más que turismo: una conexión real con las personas, la naturaleza y las tradiciones vivas de México. I had the opportunity to experience something truly unique in the Sierra Mixe region of Oaxaca, and it was without a doubt something that left a deep impression on me. From the very beginning, the Mixe community welcomed us with warmth and generosity that is rarely found; they opened the doors to their daily lives, proudly sharing their traditions, history, and roots. We were able to closely appreciate their handicrafts, created with remarkable care and meaning that reflect centuries of cultural heritage, as well as enjoy their traditional cuisine, full of authentic flavors that tell a story in every dish. One of the most memorable moments was the hike through the mountains: an incredible journey through lush, vibrant vegetation, where the sound of flowing water guided us to beautiful hidden waterfalls. It is a natural environment that deeply connects you with the land and invites you to disconnect from everyday life. In addition, the organization and attention provided by Raíz Ayuuk were impeccable. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for their excellent work and for their commitment to supporting and strengthening their community. More than just a trip, it was a conscious ecotourism experience, where respect for nature and local culture is at the heart of everything. Without a doubt, a destination I highly recommend to those seeking more than tourism: a genuine connection with people, nature, and the living traditions of Mexico.
