Reasons to book this training:
(1) Location: Caribbean side of Costa Rica, in the town of Cahuita, which is very wild and undeveloped, so you have jungle coming right up to the beach and basically no tourists. It's a 5 minute walk from the beach. The whole area is beautiful.
(2) Facility: A hotel with little private houses. The grounds are like a tropical garden, with a pool and the shala outside. It's breezy and protected from the sun, but there's green and flowers all around.
(3) Staff: The owner Stacy really embodies Yoga in the sense that she works from the place of someone who believes in that philosophy. She's also a massage therapist by training, so she has great anatomical knowledge. And she's an acro yoga teacher, so she has knowledge of spotting and getting students into more advanced poses. She had two other teachers on staff: one who is a personal trainer and high school science teacher, who focused on anatomy, and one who is a yin and vinyasa professional teacher trainer with more than 40 teacher trainings under her belt, who focused on sequencing and taught us several different methods.
(4) Logistics: We did 2 hours of yoga in the morning, then breakfast, then class for 3 hours, then lunch. We had 2 hours of break in the afternoon, then 3 more hours of class, dinner, and a yin practice before bed. So you had a break every day to go to the beach or swim in the pool, or take a taxi 2 kilometers to the small town where you could go to a restaurant or little shops. There were also two days off.
