Bodie is a photographic gem. Jennifer King’s workshop affords one the opportunity to capture night photos of the milky way, and, in the morning sessions, to enter some building for interior shots. Jennifer is personable, helpful and strives to insure that you have a positive experience. Her workflow for editing milky way photographs was/is invaluable for me. Randy (the second instructor/photographer) and Jennifer make a good team.

This was a great experience in every facet. Organization, itinerary planning and execution, "learning moments" with Jennifer and Randy, guided and monitored access to the interiors of many of the preserved buildings (the general public does not have this), staging of shot locations for night sky and informative and interesting classroom sessions. Everything just melded together so well. I booked this workshop shortly after it opened up and am so glad I did. The group size was small - 6 photographers plus two instructors. For the Bodie site, this was the ideal size group. Any more than 6 would have been very difficult to manage through the access limitations of the buildings we photographed. Also, for the night sky sessions, the area is very, very dark. So our group size made it easier and safer to move about between shot locations in the dark. The park staff at Bodie State Park were awesome! The rangers, the aides and the Bodie Foundation host were attentive, very engaging and most informative. Wonderful people! I am so glad I attended this workshop and highly recommend it if it is offered again.

The workshop was wonderful! The workshop was perfectly planned so all we had to do was show up and have fun. Jennifer and Randy were ready with great opportunities for us to shoot every day. Exclusive access before the park opened and after it closed was priceless! We had plenty of time to explore and shoot on our own or with others, whichever we wanted. Jennifer and Randy ensured that everyone was taken care of, and that everyone had plenty of opportunities to get great photos. There's a reason Jennifer's workshops get so many returning participants. I don't think they could have done it better.
